THEATRE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES
Muskoka StageWorks is a theatre company, devoted to providing fun, educational classes and production opportunities for all age groups in Muskoka. Led by professional actor, director and educator, Robin Clipsham, the company offers training and performance opportunities in theatre, drama and improv. We are best known for our flagship summer productions in Annie Williams Park, PRISM Theatre In The Park. Aside from our classes and camps programming, we perform theatre for young audiences in partnership with the Trillium Lakelands District School Board's Battle of the Books.
Stuart Little (2017) and James And The Giant Peach (2018) have been two of our ‘battle books’. A cast of 15 – 18 actors, aged 9 - 18 present these fantastical plays in the Spring Term. Sometimes, our productions tour to local area elementary schools, and are also presented at area theatres. |
AUDITIONS
Auditions are friendly and non-stressful. All students in Grades 5 – 12 are welcome to audition for the roles. Auditions consist of both a prepared reading (from script sections provided at the door of the theatre so you can practice) and a ‘cold’ (unprepared) reading of a short selection from the play. Auditions are held so that we can get to know you and your strengths/abilities. What we’re really looking for is an ensemble cast of ‘characters’ who like to play roles with lots of energy and who will have a fabulous time presenting these fun and funny shows, together.
